Following the post NPLW era at Murdoch (MUMFC), Rajan Varatha was appointed Division One Coach for the Murdoch Women at the beginning of 2026.
With an AFC B coaching licence, Raj’s mission was to bring a new group of players together and unite them as leaders in the girls football pathway at MUMFC.
Assisted by C Licence accredited Coach in 2026, Mike Bailey, and stepping in to the junior pathway with model coaching sessions, an inaugural Girls Mastery programme at Winthrop, working with senior players like Pearl Ekbote, Anna Tan and Sophie Mumbi as Role Models, the women and girls programme this year started to build a connect from our mini roos through junior girls competitions and senior football that we haven’t seen at MUMFC before.
Strong and experienced junior girls coaches like Paul Carr, Alex Bickford and Matt Dennis will be leading us in the girls section for 2027. The club’s girls pathway is in very good hands going into the October Trials period.
Welcome to Murdoch for 2027 Raj, as our inaugural Women and Girls Technical Director for 2027 and Head Coach! We are privileged to have you on board!
