Murdoch University Melville FC is busy preparing for the 2019 season.

The 2019 Mens’ State League squad will continue to place an emphasis on youth and providing opportunities for youth.

This will be our second year at the new facilities which have proved to be the best in the State, something which we are proud of. It has provided us the opportunity to train and play matches on a surface conducive to attractive, high tempo football which will provide us with a great chance to be competitive at all three levels this season. The expansion to Murdoch is further evidence of the ambition the club is showing to become one of the State’s leading lights. The MSL Squad are very positive about the opportunity that playing at Murdoch will offer.

The 2019 Mens’ State League squad continue to prepare for the 2019 season in state league division 2. The U18s, resseies and 1sts squads all have a fresh new look comrising a strong representation from the 2018 season, with also quite a number of players new to the club attracted by the quality of the coaching, facilities and ambition.

We are plaeased to welcome Danny Ciampini, who joins the 1st team coaching staff with Gavin Brown.. Togther with Technical Director Mark Jones, this represents a strong and experienced coaching team. Louis and Marcus remain in their positions coaching the Reserves and U18s respectively. The mens state league commitment is to play fast exciting football, and to improve through the development of young talent, developed wherever possible from Mudroch Univesity melville City's own youth ranks. The 2019 coaching team will be led by Gavin Brown who has been Head Coach since 2015. Gavin completed his B Licence in 2014 and is in the throes of finalising his A Licence. Gavin will oversee the coaching of the whole MSL squad, with his priority being the match day performances of the First Team. He will be looking to build on the impressive form shown by the League team in the second half of last season where the club showed many the attractive style of football we play and narrowly missing out on a play-off spot. The 2018 season built strongly on the 2017 season.

The Reserves will be coached by Louis Granich. Louis’s squad is a very young and talented group who finished third in the 2018 reserve league, with an average of 21.6 years. The majority of this squad have come through the junior ranks at Murdoch University Melville FC.

Our U18 squad will be coached for the second season running by Marcus Edwards. Marcus already has an impressive Junior coaching career, finishing runners up last year with a squad having an average age of 16.6 years. Opportunity was provided for the NPL juniors stream at MUM FC by identifying players to gain experience playing in the MSL 18s.  Marcus has won 3 U16s NPL titles in 2017 and 2 Div1 U14 titles in 2015. A junior coach with a proven track record whos player retention statistics speak for themselves. The current MSL squad has retained most of these players who have achieved the above and hope they can be part of the future success of the club at senior level.

In 2018 MUM FC pulled off a huge coup in attracting former A League Coach and AIS Academy Director, Mark Jones to the club to fulfil the role of Technical Director.  The MSL coaching staff and players look forward to having Mark on board and eagerly anticipate the Mark has already has an enormous positive influence on the whole club as we build for the future and we have been very grateful for his input; MUM FC are moving in the right direction.

The support of all MUMFC members is welcome as we try to make match days a fun and welcoming experience for all ages. Please consult the following link for dates and times of home games and come along to support the boys in their quest for promotion!
