MUMFC
MUMFC welcome new Coaches; Desire (Gilles) Monty and Preston Gilling into the southern corridors largest football club and a rapidly expanding Female Football Pathway. The club is moving into 2026 after three solid years of unprecedented growth in the football space.
To align with that growth, Gilles and Preston are appointed to Coach the club’s 2026 First Division Team. Off the back of 6 years of NPLW football, MUMFC is in rebuild phase ready for a unified and strong pathway for female football and an end game of re-entry to NPLW.
Along with a newly formed Technical Team, MUMFC will concentrate heavily on supporting the education and growth of its coaches and players through the Football Mastery programme, coaching workshops overseen by the club’s Technical Directors and engagement hubs designed to bring the members together on a regular basis for technical development and social and strategic collaborations.
Gilles will lead as Head Coach with his incredible passion for football and a drive to make MUMFC a leader in WA football in the girls and women’s space over the next 5 years. Gilles comes to MUMFC from Subiaco AFC with a resume that includes UEFA B accreditation, elite football academy experience as a TD and a professional playing portfolio with silverware from his homeland Mauritius and Singapore, Murdoch University and representing Australia alongside former Melville player Vince Matassa at the World University Games.
Assistant Coach, Preston Gilling, is the first team goal keeper with the MUMFC MSL squad. He started his coaching journey with SEDA College and helped Perth AFC Women to their First Division title in 2024. In 2025 Preston stepped into the MUMFC NPLW 21’s as part of a young coaching team.
Both Gilles and Preston have previously worked together at Perth Glory and have now teamed up at MUMFC to share their energy and help grow the rapidly expanding MUMFC Female Football Pathway.
Welcome aboard Gilles and Preston!
